    interested in TT's

i know a few members here had the mk1 TT and im curious about what you felt about the car. ive never driven/sat in one but a few things im curious about as im considering one.
    1) mirror placement: are those mirrors in a good spot to actually see out of? they remind me of the placement i had on my mk1 gti and i thought it sucked (too close to the driver/felt it needed to be placed a bit forward)
    2) rear passenger headroom: is a person about 6' going to be hitting their head on the roof/glass?

because i think this is just great.
    my signature sucks.

The mirrors are fine. You sit further back in the car than you would think. You also get used to the blind spots.

Only put people in the back seat if you have no other choice. The headroom is not so much of a problem as the leg room. I used to put people back there for quick trips but it was not a regular occurrence.

i used to have a tt. one of the most fun cars to drive imo. the mirrors are more than fine. consider the car a 2 seater...the rear 'seats' are there for insurance purposes...it makes it cheaper. i'm 5'6" and couldnt last more than 20 seconds back there.
all in all it's an awesome car...just be prepared for it to be in the shop with electrical issues! the first month i owned it, it was in the shop for almost 3 weeks (2 separate times)...but you have a vw, so you know what thats like

yeah, i was reading that over on vortex. somehow my mk4 happened to be a really reliable car. like i wouldnt hesitate jumping in it right now and driving cross country even at 140k! im liking the TT but low mileage ones seem to be in the rare and im trying to buy a car that close in milage to what i have now....seems silly.

so im probably going to pass, however that car i posted is where id want to be with mine, if i did get one.

Awesome fun to drive, but I thought it was HORRIBLE to see out of. And +1 on the rear seat for insurance purpose. Maybe a car seat will fit, but thats it. Tear it out and make a false floor. Awesome design, I would do it if I didnt have my GTI where its at
