Track your food. People who track their food will lose twice as much weight than people who don't. That includes track WHEN you eat. Try and eat several smaller meals thru the day. I know it can be hard with your job, but be sure to snack on something thru the day. Start with something for breakfast (this is my biggest struggle), then a granola bar / some nuts / some fruit / etc late in the afternoon, a good solid lunch, (save some for later if you can!), a mid-afternoon snack (maybe 1/4 of your lunch?), and dinner. Don't eat too late.
My girlfriend has struggled with her weight her entire life. She's never been heavy, just a little on the 'thick' side. She did every diet in the book. Finally, last year, she committed to doing it the "right way" by going to the gym 5 times a week and watching what she eats. She's lost 65 pounds in the last year, several dress sizes (6 i think?), ran a full Marathon, and is continuing to be in the best shape of her life. It's all about lifestyle!!
Also, lots and lots of water. Another deficiency of mine. try to drink a glass every hour when at work. You have to force yourself at first, but you'll be wondering how you went without it in no time.
She uses Calorie Counter, Diet Tracking, Food Journal, Nutrition Facts at The Daily Plate to help her track everything. It's not about counting calories, but more about being conscious of what and how you eat.
